Where to begin?
The garden is looking amazing. I know we say it so often however, if you haven’t been down to the garden for a while then may I suggest you take a wander down. The infrastructure in the garden is almost complete which is amazing considering this time last year the garden was a bare patch of unused Council land. To be honest, if it weren’t for the amazing work from the boys at Work for the Dole, under the guidance of Brendon and now Andrew, many elements in the garden would still just be ideas. We are completely indebted to them and their dedication. We have also been very blessed with Warren, his keen eye for a bargain and his team from Corrective Services. Both these teams have worked so hard and have bough all our hopes into reality. We honestly can’t thank you enough.
With the change in season has come a change in crop.
The Bunnings Sausage Sizzle was a huge success. It was horribly hot however we all had a fantastic time sharing our story. So many people had no idea that there was a community garden just around the corner. Thank you to the team who cooked and served throughout the day and thank you to those who popped down to say hello, we really appreciated it.
The most exciting new we have is that very soon we will be celebrating our first birthday and we would love for you to join us in celebrating. We will be starting at 4.00pm with some Children’s Activities run by our friends at Bunnings, 5.00pm will see the Story Tellers Guild telling stories in the open area and there will be a sausage sizzle, afternoon tea, a plant sale and so much more. You are more than welcome to bring a picnic rug and dinner along with you if you to enjoy a wonderfully relaxed Twilight in the Garden. See you there.
